Primary 5WS have fun learning about Area 😄😄😄

17th Jun 2022

Today in Numeracy we were learning how to find the area of a rectangle using multiplication. To help us to grasp the concept Miss Service taught us all how to play ‘The Area Game’.

We played the game with a partner. To begin with we each had to roll two die. We then used the numbers we rolled to draw a rectangle. If someone rolled a 6 and a 4 then their rectangle had to have two sides 6 cm long and two sides 4cm long. Next we had to work out the area of the rectangle that we had drawn by multiplying our two numbers together. The winner was the person who had drawn the rectangle with the biggest area.

What a clever way to make learning area fun!!!!!
