Safeguarding

Do you know what to do if you have a concern about a pupil's safety or welfare?

Firstly- you should never feel guilty about this. Pupil safeguarding and promoting the safety and well-being of all our pupils is our absolute top priority, above all else.

The Safeguarding Team in school are trained to assist with any safeguarding situations that may arise and is as follows:

Mrs K McMaster – Principal

Mrs A McLaughlin – Designated Teacher

Miss A Scott – Vice Principal and Deputy Designated Teacher

Mrs S Greer – SENCo and Deputy Designated Teacher

Mrs K Walker – Designated Governor for Child Protection

Mr H Ballentine  - Chairperson of the Board of Governors

Other members of staff in school who may be able to assist with any concerns are Mrs G McLarnon and Mrs F McMillan, who are part of the Senior Leadership Team, and Miss J Crawford, who is the ICT Co-ordinator.  They may need to pass information on to the Safeguarding Team.

If you have a concern of any type please do not investigate, simply mention it to your child's class teacher or a member of staff above and they will know what to do.

Safeguarding is more than just 'Child Protection', it encompasses a whole range of areas designed to ensure our children are safe when in and out of school.

Attached are a few of the main policies (guiding documents) we use in school to help make our learning community as happy and safe as possible.
