P7AM Eco Day Fun! πŸ’š

26th Apr 2024

We had a wonderful day in class today for Eco Day. We started our day with an assembly led by the Eco Committee and Eco Warriors. We then went to class and learnt about pollination and which insects and animals are pollinators. 🐝

Two visitors from Mid and East Antrim Borough Council came to our assembly hall to show us how to make a plant pot from old newspaper and also a bird feeder from some string and whole grain cereal hoops. We thoroughly enjoyed this!

Back in class we created some drawings of mining bees which we then hung around our P7 plant box outside to deter any birds from trying to eat the wildflower seeds that we planted. πŸ’

An amazing day from start to finish and what a way to end our Take 5 week! We were active, learnt something new, took notice of our wonderful surroundings in school, gave back to our school community and connected with each other in an active and fun way.

Have a look at our photos and see if you can spot all of us in the sea of green! πŸ’š
