P2 EG/VM Eco-Day

28th Apr 2023

Wow! We have had the most busy and fun-filled day to celebrate our Eco-Day!

Before our early break time, we completed a colouring page and we decorated a pot and planted cress seeds.

After break time, we planted flowers in our P2 Eco-Boxes with the theme of the King's Coronation. We have been so busy over the past few weeks painting and decorating Kings, Queens, Guards, Castles and Carriages. They look fabulous in our boxes! Thank you to Mrs Anderson for her help with all of this.

Back into the classroom and Mrs McGinley had brought in some tadpoles for us to look at. We loved how fast they moved! We learnt about the life-cycle of a frog and then we painted our own tadpoles and frogs. Brilliant work!

Before lunch time, we also had a nature walk to hunt for bugs and creepy crawlies and we listened to a story about caterpillars.

After lunch time, we visited the Hedgehog house on another nature walk and we planted sunflower seeds. Thank you to the P6 girls from the Eco-Committee who talked to us about the animals that we could find in forests and were a great help to us all day.

Everyone had a wonderful day today. So many exciting activities completed.

Well done P2 for all your hard work and enthusiasm!
