World Book Day Fun in P3SG!

3rd Mar 2022

Today we came to school dressed up as our favourite book characters to celebrate the 25th anniversary of World Book day. Firstly, we told everyone why we had chosen the particular character to dress up as and those of us who had brought our favourite books showed them to the class. We all enjoyed this circle time activity finding out about the different book characters. Next, we watched a special World Book Day event on Scholastic Live. On this livestream we got to meet the famous illustrator Alex Scheffler who has illustrated books such as 'The Gruffalo' and 'The Stick Man'. He showed us a brand new book called 'The Happy Bunnies' and he showed us how to draw a picture from the book. We enjoyed having a go at drawing the picture on our whiteboards. Afterwards we read the story called 'The Rainbow Fish' and completed a simple book review activity explaining about our favourite part of the story. Then this afternoon it was our turn to visit the Book Fair. What an exciting day!
