Week 3 - Reach “Resilience and well being programme”

2nd Feb 2022

Katie, from REACH, came back to visit Primary 5WS today to continue the “Resilience and well being” programme.

We started the session by playing some games. Firstly we played a staring game where it was very important to be honest. Next we played a pass the ball game where we all had to say one positive thing about ourselves. If we couldn’t think of anything to say we were allowed to pass and a classmate could say a positive thing about us instead.

We concluded the games today by building a compliments web. In this activity we had to throw a ball of wool to a classmate whilst paying them a compliment. As we threw we held onto the wool so that we made a huge spider-like web in the centre of the classroom.

Next we used a drawing of a tree to help us to think about ourselves. The roots were our support and help, the trunk was strengths and the leaves were our worries.

We asked to end our session with a little mindfulness session which we all really enjoyed.

We had a great time and can’t wait for Katie to visit again next week!!!
