Titanic talk with Ivan McClean

27th Feb 2026

On Friday 27th February the P7 year group had an informative talk about Titanic. Ivan McClean, who went to school in Camphill 50 years ago came to speak to us.

He told us about a Pastor called John Harper who was sailing to America with his daughter. When the ship was sinking, John put his daughter in a lifeboat and he stayed behind to assist and tell people about Jesus.

Ivan showed us a wonderful model of the Titanic which had working lights. He also played a quiz with us at the end which was very dramatic. It was boys vs girls and was all to play for until the end when the boys snatched the victory! John sent us all home with a little booklet all about the story of John Harper for us to share with you all at home.
