Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel - beginning next week......21st March - 1st April

14th Mar 2022

It's time again for one of our favourite Sustrans events, although this year it has got a new name!

Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel

What is it?

A whole school event where we are encouraging all children to get active on their journey to and/or from school. This could be walking, scooting or cycling.

What if we live too far away to walk all of the way?

We are encouraging those who live far away to do a 'park and stride'. This means you travel part of your journey by car and then park up and make the rest of your journey on foot.

What are we doing in school?

  1. We will be recording all of the active journeys made each day and recording them on the Big Walk and Wheel website. We also will be competing against the other classes to see which class can make the most active journeys.
  2. Over the 10 days we will be completing some Active Travel themed lessons in class.

We would love to see lots of families getting active in the journey to school aswell. Can you mum, dad, granny or granda join you on your journey to school?

All pupils will be given more information about this in class later this week.
