Staff Development...

6th Feb 2026

At Camphill, we believe that great teaching starts with great learning — not just for our pupils, but for our staff too! This week has been a fantastic example of how our staff team continues to grow, reflect, and strengthen their practice.

🧠 Learning About Brains and How Children Learn

On Thursday 5th February our P1 & P2 staff, along with Mrs Greer, SENCo, and Mrs McMaster, took part in professional learning focused on how the brain develops and how young children learn best. The session explored early cognitive development, the importance of relationships, and practical strategies to support children in the classroom. It was an inspiring opportunity to deepen our understanding and make sure our teaching approaches align with what science tells us about learning.

💙 Autism Training

On Friday 6th February, our whole staff team engaged in Autism training. This session helped us build on our understanding of how to support autistic learners in a way that respects their strengths, meets their needs, and creates a more inclusive classroom environment for everyone. The training sparked great discussion, reflection, and lots of new ideas to take back into our daily practice.

At Camphill, we’re committed to continuous improvement — because when our staff learn, our children benefit. We’re proud to be a school where curiosity, collaboration, and professional growth are at the heart of everything we do.
