Senior Cup Football

22nd Feb 2018

The qualifying stages of the Ballymena & District 9-a-side Senior Cup were held this week. We played on the 3G pitch at Ballymena Showgrounds, in a group with Ballykeel, Ballymena and Portglenone where only the winner would go forward to the finals.

Once again we put on a good performance and were undefeated in the group, drawing 0-0 with Portglenone and Ballymena and 1-1 with Ballykeel (Josh scored our goal). Unfortunately, this wasn't quite enough to top the group and so our quest for the Senior Cup has ended for another year!

However, five P6 players have now experienced the high level needed to succeed in our local competitions and with plenty of other P6s desperate to make the team, next year is looking promising.

Squad: Samuel, Kaiden, Matthew, Kyal, Brandon, Josh, Carter, Kenzie, Ben Mc, Brooklyn, Taylor and Ben S.

Also included is a photo of those who played in the group stage and/or finals of the 7-a-side tournament held earlier this term and finished third overall, who were presented with their bronze medals in Assembly.
