Road Safety Week in Camphill

20th Nov 2023

This week is Road Safety Week.  The theme for this year is "Let's Talk about Speed".  Throughout the week we will be thinking about being safe on and near roads.  This week is organised by the road safety charity 'Brake'.  Please see the message below from the charity.

Ross Moorlock, Interim CEO at Brake:
“Every time we drive faster than the speed limit, or too fast for the road conditions, we increase the risk of a crash – and we increase the chance that someone will be killed or hurt on the road. The faster you go, the longer the stopping distance and the harder you will hit something.

“Whoever you are, and however you travel – this year we are challenging everyone to start talking about speed with your friends, families and colleagues.”

We would ask that parents and carers support us this week by talking to their children about road safety and safe ways to cross the road.
