Primary Schools Hockey Festival

19th Jun 2019

On Tuesday 18th June two hockey teams from Camphill went to the Academy to play in the Ballymena Schools Hockey Festival. Each Camphill team played 5 other schools in their section. Camphill '2s' had only played together as a team once before and so on the day came together fantastically, never giving up. Special thanks to Emilee Leacock who stepped in as goal keeper at the last minute and definitely out shone herself, saving shots from all angles.

Camphill '1s' fought hard in their section and kept going for goal with forwards and midfield players Gracie Kenny, Katie Gardiner, Amelie Pittam and Naomi Patterson scoring countless number of goals. They therefore got through as winners of their section with 15 points and played Ballymena Primary in the semi finals and then Gracehill in the finals. The final had to go to extra time and then golden goal..... but unfortunately Gracehill scored first to end the game. What an emotional ending!

All players received a gold pin badge and Camphill '1s' as runners up received a trophy. We are very proud of all the girls from Camphill who took part and I think they all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and competition.
