Primary 7BC learn about 3D shapes and Nets

1st Oct 2020

This week has been incredibly eventful for Mr Clarke’s class, especially with their Numeracy. Students worked in groups finding types of 3D shapes and their properties. This was a timed competition where they had 20 minutes to identify as many of the mystery 3D shapes as they could! They were allowed to use websites and Maths dictionaries to help, while also using solid shapes throughout the room. Different shapes were assigned different point values, so they had to decide what shapes to spend the most time researching! Well done, Hannah, Amy, Paul and Mackenzie who were victorious winning the maximum 150 points with no corrections! Pupils were also part of a tricky challenge this week “The Cube Challenge”. They had to find 11 different ways to make a cube using nets. The classroom was brimming with competitiveness. Each student was given Clixi to help prove that this net was indeed a cube! The Students worked really hard, and showed great teamwork
