Primary 5WS think about the work of ‘Care for Cambodia‘

19th Apr 2023

This morning we all attended a Key Stage 2 Assembly taken by Mr. Jonny Hamill. Mr. Hamill and his wife, Sok, came to visit our school to talk to us about their work with the ‘Care for Cambodia’ organisation.

We learned all about how this organisation helps Cambodian children, who are less fortunate than ourselves, to obtain an education by providing them with packs enabling them to attend school. They also taught us how to say a few words in the Khmer language.

When we returned to class we looked at the UNICEF  ‘Convention on the Rights of the Child’  and thought about how the ‘Care for Cambodia’ organisation are helping to meet the rights of the children in Cambodia. We were pleased to discover how many rights were being met through this very important work!
