Primary 3WS learn about France!

22nd Jun 2018

In class we were listening to the story 'The cat who wanted to go home' by Jill Tomlinson. We loved hearing about Suzy the cat and how much she wanted to get back home to France.

We decided to try to find out some information and facts about France. Miss Service taught us how to use Google to find out what we wanted to know. We learned how to ask Google all the questions we had.  We discovered how to say some words in French, Ingrid helped us with the pronunciation, and discovered the names of some of the famous French landmarks.

We also used our atlases to find out where France is and we learned that it is part of Europe. We also looked at all the names of the countries that surround it.

We had a class discussion to see what we already knew about France. Nathan knew that you can travel there in a tunnel that goes underneath the sea and Ryan told us that the cars drive on the right hand side of the road. Brandon knew that Disneyland is in Paris and Evie told us that she goes on holidays to France and stays in the Eurocamp.

Learning about another country is lots of fun!
