P7RA Transition Workshop

22nd Mar 2019

The Jigsaw team of Emma, Lori and Zane have started their interactive workshops to prepare the P7 classes for transition to secondary education. The first lesson was a look back at a timeline of our lives to remember all the changes we have already experienced. This reminded us that change is a natural part of life and can bring joy as well as uncertainty.

In week two, the children said what they were looking forward to and what they would miss, when they change schools. They were asked to think about anything they were nervous about in relation to transition and to ask any questions they had in any of the remaining sessions. Then they participated in a fun interview with a partner to discover their achievements over their primary education and to let everyone know about them. It turned out we were a very talented bunch, with lots of things to be proud of!

There will be two more sessions before the Easter break, with the final two later in the year when we discover which school we will be attending in Year 8.
