Today we learned about the artist William Morris who was the most influential designer of the 19th century. He created wallpaper using themes from nature such as leaves, flowers and birds. His designs were often symmetrical.
We used William Morris’s style to create our own designs which we then indented onto polystyrene to create a printing block. We created our own repeating wallpaper pattern using five colours of paint.
We produced some great results and really enjoyed our block printing activity.
