As part of our Extreme Earth theme, we carried out an experiment today where we made our own volcanic eruption!
We learned that by mixing baking soda, which is an alkaline, with vinegar, which is an acid, we cause a chemical reaction which produces carbon dioxide. This creates an eruption.
We had great fun seeing how far our ‘lava’ flowed! 🌋
