Today, as well as ‘breaking the rules,’ we carried out our volcano experiment which involved using an alkali (bicarbonate of soda) and an acid (vinegar) and investigating the reaction that took place when these materials were mixed! Bubbles of carbon dioxide were produced like a pyroclastic volcanic eruption. We enjoyed seeing the chemical reaction happen in front of our eyes! 🌋
