P7 Art and Technology Work

6th Dec 2017

This term, through the 'Hunger' topic, P7s have been learning about all aspects of the Irish Famine.  The children have been practicing pencil drawing skills in order to produce famine sketches.  They have also been studying the work of the Irish artist, JP Rooney, and have created paintings in a style similar to his.

As a technology task, P7s had to plan and build a shelter for the O'Driscoll children (characters from the class novel, 'Under the Hawthorn Tree') which had to be made using only natural materials.

In the period up to Christmas, P7s have also been learning how to draw stars using compasses.  The children created beautiful pictures using these star designs.

Have a look at the displays of all our fantastic work!
