As part of our WAU theme, we wondered how Vikings kept their food fresh. We found out that they used a lot of salt so we carried out an experiment to see if we could get salt from salty water. There was a lot of new scientific vocabulary like saturated, dissolved, solution, solute and evaporation. We also had to think about how to make a ‘fair test’.
