P5 Shared Education Trip to Cushendall

19th Feb 2026

P5 had a very exciting day visiting Cushendall with our friends from Mary Queen of Peace! We started the day by splitting into two groups. One group went to the RNLI Lifeboat Centre where we learned what lifeguards do, what they wear and how they save people. P5 especially loved trying on some equipment! We also made a donation to RNLI whilst we were there. The other group went to Red Bay Boats. We explored all the different type of boats they make, as well as looking in their workshop to see some boats being made right in front of us!

We switched the groups round, where one group went to the RNLI Lifeboat Centre, and the other group went a lovely walk by the sea to a playpark near by.

After some lunch, we said goodbye to our friends from Mary Queen of Peace and headed back to school. We spent the rest of the afternoon colouring in a Cushendall colouring sheet with all of the things we had learned from our day. We had a fantastic time!
