P5 Eco Day!

24th Apr 2026
We had a brilliant Eco Day in P5!

We began with planting sunflowers into the bottles we had brought in. It was a great way to recycle some plastic and turn it into something beautiful again! We all got to take home a packet of sunflowers as well from Mid & East Antrim in Bloom! We also made flowers to put in our P5 planter boxes from crisp packets we had collected at school! It was fun to see the flowers come to life. We also went on a minibeast search which was lots of fun! In groups we made some minibeast hotels! Mrs Anderson was great at explaining about how we should keep out planter box tidy, and we helped her by weeding the box and planting some flowers. We also put our foil flowers on a trestle - it's very eye-catching!

Throughout the day we learned more about how to recycle plastics, watched videos and coloured in an Eco Day colouring sheet! We had a wonderful Eco Day in P5!
