P4JC Action Mental Health Little Healthy Me Morning 😊

23rd Oct 2023

This morning Francesca from Action Mental Health came to our class to help us learn more about our mental health and how we can look after ourselves.

We learned about our brains and what they do. We found out that our thoughts, feelings and behaviour can be linked. Francesca showed us several different breathing techniques to help us feel calm.

We watched and joined in with several videos and songs which helped us to understand about our feelings and mental health. We looked at a mind jar and a well-being toolbox that we might like to make at home and thought about how these were like our calm box and corner in our classroom.

Francesca read us the story Ruby’s Worry and then we talked about it. We drew pictures of an adult we could share our worries with if we had them.

Francesca gave us a leaflet and pencil and left a booklet with Miss Crawford for us to look at and take home later in the week. We all had a fantastic morning and really enjoyed Francesca’s visit.

Have a look at some of the fun activities we enjoyed! (Francesca will be back in December to visit Mrs McLaughlins class)
