P4GM take Assembly on World Book Day

5th Mar 2020

Today is a very special day. This is the day that is designated as World Book Day. The children in Camphill have made a tremendous effort to dress up as their favourite book characters and lots of related activities will be carried out in classrooms. Younger children will be read to by older children and a great time is always had by all. P4GM took assembly and related their time in the spotlight to Article 28:

Children have the right to an education.

We listened as children from P4 read out a short review of their favourite book. Then we asked ourselves, WHAT WOULD LIFE BE LIKE WITHOUT BOOKS?

Well, it quickly became apparent that we would miss out on so much.  A large image was put on the screen of a group of children in a poor area of India attempting to learn in an outdoor classroom. We compared and contrasted our classroom to theirs. It was not hard to realise how privileged we are. Let us make the best of our education and enjoy the wonder and excitement of World Book Day 2020....
