P4AML make robotic hands! 🤖

25th Nov 2024

As part of our theme ‘Mighty Me’, we have been thinking about our skeletons and bones.  During ABL we have made skeleton pictures with art straws, added music to the song ‘Dem Bones’ and dug in the sand for dinosaur bones.

Today we watched a programme about bones and looked at an X-ray picture of a hand.  We discussed the bones in our hands and thought about the size of the bones. We then worked together to make a robotic hand.  We had to think carefully about the number and size of bones in our fingers and thumbs and how we could make them using straws and string. It was really exciting when we made our hands move!
