P4AML go around the world for Christmas 🎄

15th Dec 2020

We have been working in groups to research how Christmas is celebrated in other countries.  We produced great posters with lots of interesting information and then presented what we had found out.  We discovered that:

  • In Germany children leave out their shoes for Santa to fill with sweets.
  • In China they call their trees ‘trees of light’.
  • In the Netherlands Santa rides a horse.
  • In France Pere Noel (Father Christmas) has a helper who decides if each child has been naughty or nice.
  • In Mexico children get a piñata filled with sweets.
  • In Australia Santa changes into a shirt, shorts and flip flops and is helped by kangaroos.

It was really interesting to find out about what happens in other countries at Christmas time!
