P4 Safer Internet Day 2026

18th Feb 2026

Today we all celebrated Safer Internet Day 2026.

We began with an assembly led by our Digital Leaders.

They introduced this year's theme - 'Smart Tech, Safe Choices - Exploring the Safe and Responsible Use of AI.'

In class, we read a story called DigiDuck's Famous Friend which helped us think about what we know about strangers online and what we should and shouldn't share online about ourselves - we should keep our personal information private and not trust anyone online unless we know them in real life.

We listened to another story called Troll Stinks - about how any messages we send can upset or hurt people so we should only say or write what we would say to a person if we saw them.

We talked some more about AI and what we know about it and its uses. We learnt that we can't always trust what it tells us as some things might be fake or generated by AI and not real photos or images taken by a person at all. We agreed that AI has good uses but we need to be careful using it and that we should talk to a trusted adult if anything annoys or upsets us or if it seems strange.

We talked and thought about what we do online and designed our own tablet home screen design to show 'My Life Online.'
