P4 have a visit from Gayle from ‘The Simon Community’ 🏠

18th Apr 2024

Today we had a visit from Grace’s mum Gayle, who works for the Simon Community.  This was as part of our theme of ‘Home Sweet Home’. She explained what a home means to many people and what happens when someone doesn’t have a home. Gayle brought along a teddy called Simon to help us think about why people are homeless and what organisations such as The Simon Community can do to help.

We listened really well and asked some great questions. Thanks to Gayle for coming along, and for giving us notebooks and pens!

We know that Article 27 of the CRC states the we have the right to a place to live, so this afternoon also linked to our Rights Respecting School work.
