Our School Council learn all about the NI Assembly at Stormont

19th Jan 2022

Our School Council enjoyed a super virtual session with Marina from the NI Assembly School Service today - follow#niaeducation on Twitter to see more!

Our School Council reps from P3-P7 were given a virtual tour of Stormont along with information about the roles of an MLA. We were able to see pictures of the MLAs for North Antrim and the First Minister and Deputy First Minister and were told all about the jobs these people do. Information about Laws the NI Executive discuss and how the MLAs make decisions was also shared along with ideas that we could use within our own School Council.  The School Council now understand the role of a Chairperson, Secretary and representatives and know how important it is to makes plans and achieve these!

We hope to arrange a future session with the NI Assembly School Service again before the end of the year where we will get to hear from some of the MLAs.
