Numeracy Day in P2SH!

16th Oct 2024

We had a brilliant Numeracy day today in P2!

All the children dressed up especially for the day. Take a look at our fabulous costumes!

We then used Numeracy in a circuit of activities. We used Numicon, practiced writing our numbers in the sand, made sets of different numbers using  animals and cubes and used the number fans to show numbers before, after and in between!

After break Mrs Anderson visited the class to talk about how she uses Numeracy in her job as a Classroom Assistant as well as with the Eco club. She talked about the numeracy she would use when making an apple pie and  we got the chance to sort apples into sets, look at the weight of the ingredients and look at the coins that you might find in an apple pie. We then got to try some ourselves - it was delicious! The children loved their visit from Mrs Anderson.

We then finished our day by enjoying a yummy muffin brought in by Sammy the baker!
