Numeracy Day in P2 LA!

16th Oct 2024

We had a great Numeracy day today in P2!

We started the day off by looking at what everyone was dressed up in and how Numeracy was used in the different jobs!

We really enjoyed our Numeracy talk by Mrs Anderson, a Classroom Assistant in our school. She talked to us about Eco schools and the apple trees that were planted by the Eco club. Then she talked about the Numeracy she would use to make an apple tart using the Eco club’s apples. We looked at the weight and shapes of the ingredients, sorted apples into sets and looked at coins that they might find in an apple pie at this time of year. We all enjoyed tasting some of the apple pie at the end!

This afternoon, we enjoyed using our Numeracy in a circuit of activities to help us learn our new numbers. We wrote numbers in the sand, made our numbers with Cuisenaire, Numicon and cubes and used the number fans to show numbers before, after and in between!

Have a look at all of our pictures!
