We have 3 winners!!! Our Valentine's Quiz was a huge success, thank you to everyone who entered! A big congratulations to The McKendry family who received 1st prize winning a £250 Galgorm voucher. Well done to 2nd prize winners the Murphy family winning a £50 Grouse voucher and to 3rd prize winner Lola Kirk winning a £20 Corner Bakery voucher. Enjoy! | P6/P7 congratulations!! What a show! Over 700 pupils and families enjoyed a show this week that was nothing short of spectacular. MEA Outdoors want to make parents and caregivers across the MEA Borough aware of Drowning Prevention Week (14th - 21st June)

 

To highlight this important week, we invite you to join our Play Safe event!

 

Ballygally Beach

Saturday 21st June 12-2pm

 

  • Water Safety Information from RNLI Lifeguards
  • Pop Up Play  
  • Beach Art with local artist Janet Crymble

 

This is a casual, drop-in session - no booking required. So come on down - have a play, get creative and chat all things water safety!

Parking and toilet facilities available at Ballygally Community Hall - please take care when crossing the busy road to the beach.

Drowning Prevention Week 2025

Led by Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS)

Drowning Prevention Week is deliberately timed ahead of the school summer holidays when children spend more time outdoors when vital water safety skills can help keep them safe. No child should drown, and with the right water safety education accidental drownings are preventable. 

 

Why Water Safety Matters

Children are naturally curious and often drawn to water, whether it’s a pool, beach, or even a garden pond. As a parent, understanding water safety and teaching it to your children can make all the difference. By participating in Drowning Prevention Week, you can help ensure your children are aware of the dangers and know how to stay safe.
