Maths Week Ireland in Primary 3

16th Oct 2020

This week in class in addition to our usual Numeracy activities we added in some Numeracy games and challenges to really test us.

Our first activity was called 'What is the question?' We were given the answer twelve and we had to think of what the questions could have been. We worked really hard to investigate different possibilities and came up with some great ideas.

Our second activity was a game called 'Three in a row'. We played this game with a partner. We had to roll two dice and decide whether to add or subtract the two numbers to obtain an answer. We then found the answer on our grid and placed a counter over it. The winner was the first person to place three counters in a row. We really enjoyed this game and it was a fun way to practise our addition and subtraction facts.

We took some time in class to look at some of the homework photographs which had been submitted. These photographs showed us lots of interesting ways of using nature to help us with our Numeracy. Well done to everyone who took part!
