As today is the 80th anniversary of VE Day we discussed why this is such a significant day. We learned lots of interesting facts by looking at a VE Day PowerPoint and other various articles on NewsDesk and Newsround. We enjoyed finding out about Winston Churchill and also how people celebrated VE Day by having street parties and putting up Union Jack bunting. We also learned about rationing and evacuation, this helped to give us a sense of what life was like during World War 2. Everyone really enjoyed learning about such an important historical event.
