Learning about ‘The Water Cycle’ in Primary 5WS

18th Jan 2022

In our new World Around Us topic, Water, we were all very excited to be learning all about ‘The Water Cycle.’

We have been learning lots of interesting, new words. A few examples of which are condensation, evaporation, precipitation and vapour.

We have also created our very own ‘water cycle in a bag’ evaporation experiment. Miss Service drew The Water Cycle on a ziplock bag before putting a small amount of blue coloured water inside. We attached the bag to the window and will be watching it closely over the next few weeks as the temperature changes outside. The water inside should evaporate and condense as the temperature rises and falls.

We also made our own illustrations of ‘The Water Cycle’ on paper plates. It was great fun and really helped us to understand that the process keeps repeating over and over again.

We have included some pictures of our work for you to look at.

We are looking forward to learning more about water as our topic progresses!
