Senior Boys Football Tournament

8th Oct 2018

Some of the P7 boys played in a 7-a-side football tournament at Ballymena Showgrounds on Friday 5th October. The weather was kind and we all had a good afternoon. After a slow start, of draws with Carnaghts and St. Colmcille's and defeats by Gracehill and Ballykeel, we finished strongly by beating Kells and Fourtowns. Whilst the final group match was being played we had time to fit in a friendly against Carnaghts, which we also won. Unfortunately, we had not picked up enough points in the early matches to qualify from our group, but we had learned a lot and improved as the tournament progressed which is hopeful for the future. Interestingly, Fourtowns (one of the teams we had beaten) went on to win the overall title, so the potential is there if we can put it together in a full tournament!

Squad: Harry, Matthew (c), Tyrese, Brooklyn, Denzil, Carter, Taylor, Daniel and Ben.
