Football Finals

31st Jan 2018

Yesterday, at Ballymena Showgrounds 3G pitch, the football team competed in the finals of the 7-a-side league. We had qualified from our group last term and competed against the three other finalists, in defence of the trophy we won last year. Our first match saw us gain a very creditable 0-0 draw against Carniny, unfortunately this was followed by a 1-0 defeat by Fourtowns. Whilst overall victory was now beyond us, second place remained a possibility and the team showed great commitment in the final match to beat Diamond 1-0, with Carter scoring and a few other near misses. However, Carniny had beaten Fourtowns in their last match meaning we had to settle for third place, but in the knowledge that we were the only team that the overall winners had not defeated! We now look forward to the 9-a-side Senior Cup tournament in late February.

Squad: Samuel, Kaiden, Matthew, Brandon, Josh, Carter, Kenzie, Kyal, Ben and Brooklyn.
