Floating and Sinking in P7AS

18th Mar 2022

As we have been learning all about Titanic this term, we have been investigating floating and sinking objects. What allows an object to float? Why do some objects float and some sink? How is it possible for ships made of very heavy metals to float on water?

We learned today that it is all to do with the density of an object.  We designed an experiment, which included fair testing, to test objects to see if they were floaters or sinkers. We designed our own tables for recording our predictions and the results.
