Egyptian fun in Primary 5WS!

14th Dec 2021

Today to finish off our topic on the Ancient Egyptians we all made a Pharaoh’s headdress.

In our topic we have learned that this headdress was known as a Nemes crown. It was a striped cloth that covered the entire back of the head and neck. Some Egyptologists think that it’s meant to look a little like a lion’s mane. In the centre, at the front, is a uraeus. The uraeus is an upright cobra which was meant to represent the fact that the Pharaoh was ready to strike his enemies at any time.

Have a look at our photos. I’m sure you’ll all agree that everyone looks fabulous!

Miss Service even put on some music and taught us the sand dance. It was great fun!!!!!
