Digital Leaders Safer Internet Day Assembly

22nd Feb 2025

Our P7 Digital Leaders took Assembly this week to introduce the whole school to Safer Internet Day 2025.

This year's theme is 'Too good to be true - Protecting yourself and others from scams online.'

The Digital Leaders spoke about what we like to do online and then talked about what a scam is and how it might show up on our screens. They helped us to know not to trust pop-ups that say we have won something and also not to give away any personal information such as our name, age, address, photo, school or bank details.

The Digital Leaders reminded us to always tell a trusted adult at home or in school if we are worried about something online and that our trusted adults can help us to block and report anything we do not like online.

So remember to look out for a possible SCAM

S - If something seems too good to be true, like a high quality item for a very cheap price.

C - If someone contacts you when you weren’t expecting it, like in a message or email.

A - If someone or something asks for your personal information.

M - If someone asks for money or to trade with you.

We then went back to class and found out some more about how to stay safe online with lots of different activities.
