'Children's Mental Health' week in Primary 3

7th Feb 2020

As part of 'Children's Mental Health' week we were asked to choose a mindfulness mantra to focus on throughout the week. In Primary 3 we chose the mantra "I am kind! I am a good friend! I can help others! Kindness is my superpower!" We all designed an outfit for our own kindness superhero and gave them a suitable name.

We also looked at a powerpoint which told us all about the different things that we must do in order to stay healthy. We must eat healthy foods, keep ourselves clean, get lots of exercise, make sure we get enough sleep and learn to talk about our feelings.

Finally our teachers taught us some new breathing exercises to help us to calm down if we are feeling a bit anxious or overwhelmed. We all enjoyed learning how to balloon breathe or breathe only using one nostril at a time. It was very relaxing!
