Children’s Mental Health Week in P3SG

7th Feb 2025

This week is Children’s Mental Health Week and the theme this year is ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’. We have participated in lots of activities and each day we have tried to focus on one of the different elements from our ‘Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing approach’. Here are some of the ways in which we covered the 5 different strands.

CONNECT - We all went outside and had some time to play and connect with children from the other P3 class.

KEEP LEARNING - We have been learning about different feelings and emotions and how we are all different and react and behave in different ways.

BE ACTIVE AND TAKE NOTICE - We went on a lovely walk around the school and we also participated in some ‘imoves’ daily videos. While on our walk we took the opportunity to ‘take notice’ of things around us in the environment. We picked 4 things and drew pictures of these things when we came back to the classroom.

GIVE - We each coloured a bookmark for a friend in our class. We then enjoyed giving these to each other.

Through this range of activities we also had the opportunity to discuss a few relevant articles from ‘The Rights of the Child’.

ARTICLE 28 - Children have the right to an education

ARTICLE 31 - Every child has the right to rest, relax and play

We have really enjoyed all of the different activities that we participated in throughout the week.
