'Children’s Mental Health Week 2019'. - 'Keeping Safe'

5th Feb 2019

This week in school both pupils and staff are talking about 'Keeping Safe' and encouraging good mental health. This week is 'Children’s Mental Health Week 2019'. The theme is Healthy:Inside and Out - home this week (And attached on our website) is information for parents to read regarding looking after our Mental Health and that of our child's.  Examples such as providing a healthy snack and getting a good nights sleep are just some of the suggestions to encourage good Mental Health. Staff are also receiving afterschool training on ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) on Tuesday evening and are introducing the theme of 'Being Safe' in their lessons during the week - some classes will have homework activities sent home so that you as parents can discuss this with your child.

Alongside this we are offering a Parents Information session on Wednesday run by the NSPCC on 'Keeping your child safe online' in support of UK 'Safer Internet Day' which is Tuesday 5th February.  Staff are also attending a staff information session on this later on Wednesday afternoon too.

We hope that everyone in our school along with parents/carers will benefit from the advice we gain during this week.
