Camphill Celebrates Safer Internet Day 2026

18th Feb 2026

Today we celebrated Safer Internet Day 2026.

We began with a special assembly led by our P7 Digital Leaders.

The Digital Leaders introduced us to the theme for this year - 'Smart Tech, Safe Choices - Exploring the Safe and Responsible Use of AI.'

They explained what Artificial Intelligence or AI is and how it can do fantastic things. They also helped us understand that we need to be careful if we use AI as it is just a fancy computer program and can't think for itself or imagine the way our brilliant brains can!

Thank you to our Digital Leaders for talking to us about AI and how to use it sensibly and responsibly.

In class, we all thought some more about how to stay safe online and about how we might use AI safely using stories, videos, songs and all kinds of interesting activities.

We know that when we go online we should keep our personal information private and not to give out details such as our name, age, address, phone number or photo - we should use a nickname and an avatar or cartoon picture instead.

It is best to only interact online with people we know in real life - our family or friends we play with at home or in school.

If anyone asks us for personal information or we see something that we don't like then we will talk about it with a trusted adult so they can help us.

Adults please look at the ParentMail sent today for more information about Online safety and ideas on how to talk to your child about what they are doing online.

Have a look at some photos of us celebrating Safer Internet Day below.

There are also some posters below with lots of useful information about staying safe online and using all kinds of devices.
