Summer Assessments take place over these next 3 weeks - starting on Monday 27th April..... (see more details in Parentmail sent on Weds 22nd April) All P3 -P7 pupils will be taking Standardised Tests in Literacy and Numeracy and will be timetabled to sit these tests in the ICT Suite - please make sure your child is in school each day during this assessment period. These test scores will be issued on your child's End of Year report. | Milk at breaktime is now available to order - see Parentmail for details - last date/time to place an order is Friday at 12noon. | The school online uniform shop is now open until Friday 15th May for new school uniform for next academic year - Delivery is due into school wk.bg. 15th June. P4 parents your child will need to have a school PE Kit for going into P5 this is now available on the online shop.  | P1 pupils look forward to their theme day this Thursday - 'Life in a Castle' | P1 parents - please find information about a summer term trip to W5 in Parentmail on Tuesday 21st April. Attendance Matters - Miss School - Miss Out!

Miss School - Miss Out! Is the message being advertised via The Department of Education.

This week in Assembly Mrs McMaster talked about the importance of Attendance and showed the pupils a short video clip from The Department of Education called - ‘Miss School - Miss Out’ - this let the pupils see why being in school everyday is important - the message was everyday you learn and develop socially!

Mrs McMaster also presented the monthly ‘Attendance Cups’ to P1RS & P5LY - both classes had the highest class attendance % for the month of September. Well done to all the boys and girls in these two classes for being in school every day! 

September’s overall Attendance figure for the whole school was 98.2% which is fantastic - we are certainly off to a flying start! Most classes only missed out on winning the Attendance Cups by a very small margin which is great news! 

The Department of Education monitors attendance in schools closely and each month we in school check for patterns of absences or for pupils who have not received a high attendance %. The Departmebt of Education uses the word ‘Chronic’ to describe an attendance percentage sitting less than 90% as over a year this would equate to 1 month off school. 

In Camphill we will write out to parents highlighting your child’s monthly % attendance figure if it does fall below 90% in any given month. If this figure continues to fall for any given child school will contact the ‘Education Welfare’ Department at the Education Authority to ask them to proceed in seeking further information. 

Each month photographs go on the website of the winning P1-P4 & P5-P7 ‘Class of the Month for Attendance’! This same class photograph is also displayed on a board in the two main corridors and at the end of the year the class from P1-P4 and P5-P7 who have been on the board the most times wins a ‘fun afternoon’ at the end of June!
