Article 6: Every child 👶 has the right to life.

3rd Nov 2020

For the next two weeks, we will be looking at Article 6.  See above.

The rest of this article states:

Governments must do all they can to ensure that children survive and develop to their full potential.

Wow! This is a big statement and it can be very difficult for us to understand.

I am going to help you by giving you some ways governments can help. Your teacher will discuss some of the strategies with you, depending on your age.

Children must have:

Care, protection and nurture from adults,

Nutritious food and water.

The chance to become independent as they get older.

Exercise and sleep.

A clean ,safe environment .

Quality education and a chance to play.

Safety, security and respect.

Health care- to see a doctor 👩‍⚕️ or nurse 👨‍⚕️ when you need to and to be vaccinated against diseases.

All of their rights!!!

What a lot of discuss!  Can you think of situations where children are denied the rights contained within this article?

Following your discussion, there are some tasks for you to do.

FS- Draw a picture of three adults who help you. There is a template provided.

KS1- Think about the importance of eating healthily. Complete the attached word search.

KS2- Can you design a poster to show one or more ways in Camphill that pupils are allowed to express their opinion.

Please put some of your work up on your class pages and tag our RRS section.

Thank you!
