Girls Hockey Tournament - 'Antrim Hockey Blitz' (Round 2)

26th Feb 2019

Camphill Primary Schools hockey team headed back up to Antrim Forum for another hockey blitz. The last blitz helped us to develop our match skills and tactics and this time we had greatly improved. Antrim Primary beat us last time as they are a very skilful side, however this time we managed to hold them to a scoreless draw. Amy Reynolds saved some fantastic shots and Emma Dempsey was like a brick wall in defence and never gave up!Gracie Kenny nearly scored, but unfortunately the ball was just cleared off the goal line. Our girls were keen to score and this was our aim for the day. In our next match against Maine Integrated Primary, Katie Gardiner took a quick free and before the other team had realised she was pounding towards their goals and struck it clearly into their nets. We have learnt even more from this blitz and are starting to work together as a team. We are looking forward to the next tournament on Thursday 14th March at Ballymena Academy. Well done to all the girls-I am very proud of you and remember to play hockey you have got to have ‘grrrrrrrr!’.          Mrs Gage
