‘Amazing Jesus’ week 3 in Primary 5WS

9th Mar 2022

Today Peter and Andrea, from Scripture Union, joined us again for the third and final week in our series of lessons called ‘Amazing Jesus’

Today we learned all about another of the miracles of Jesus. We were reading and learning about Jesus healing the blind man, Bartimaeus.

To begin with Andrea wanted to give us some idea of what it must be like to be blind so she got us all to draw a house - but we had to draw it on a piece of paper that we were holding on top of our heads! It wasn’t easy at all because we couldn’t see what we were doing.

Next Andrea talked to us about the different things that blind people can use to help them - guide dogs, canes and a special type of raised print called Braille. We had a short task to complete where we had to translate a Bible verse from Braille back into English. Eleanor and Chloe were the fastest to finish!

Finally we all took part in a short drama led by Andrea. We retold the story of Jesus meeting Bartimaeus and healing him.  It was great fun!

We have all really enjoyed having Peter and Andrea come to visit our class and tell us the wonderful stories from the Bible. We will miss them.
