Accelerated Reader (AR) Reward Assembly

13th Feb 2019

Our approach to AR has seen some changes this year, following the feedback we received last June from children, parents and staff. We have a points target for each child in Key Stage 2, linked to their AR reading level, which is now displayed in each classroom. P4 joined AR a little later in the year, so their targets and first awards are due to be announced on Tuesday, 26th February along with the second phase of KS2 prizes.

This morning we were delighted to reward so many children who have already reached and passed their target. (After all you have until early June to do so!) Indeed, a large number had even achieved the advanced target, which involves exceeding your initial one by at least 50% and therefore also received the Principal's award.

We are aware that many more children are about to reach one of their targets (or have done so this week) and look forward to rewarding them straight after the half-term break. We will then schedule further ceremonies every few weeks, so get reading and hit those targets!

For now, though, a huge congratulations to all those who gained awards today. Well done and keep reading!
